After a long break from saving the world, we are back and we brought a friend! Francis Sky of Flash Flood Media joins us to talk about the shit we liked this week and his experience at the premier of ‘The Devil’s Carnival.’ Enjoy this captivating tale of our adventures and survival!
After everything that has happened in his past, Rick is running from the Gotham police with no where to hide. Suddenly, the sky turns green and Mike hits the scene to bail Rick out. Rick is not the only one running. With a quick change from red and blue spandex to blue jeans and a shirt, Bryce is being hunted by Lex Luther and General Sam Lane? Whoa, looks like Earth 2 just collided with Earth Prime. While we get Flash to run backwards to fix this mess, here is what happened in this week’s show:
News – Wally Pfister read for his directing debut
News – Josh Trank in talks to direct a Venom Movie
News – Christina Hendricks phone hacked = Sexy Pictures
Review – Project X
Review – John Carter
Review – Motorstorm RC (PS Vita)
Review – Touch My Katamari (PS Vita)
Early Impressions – MLB 12: The Show
Review – SSX
Well we might be a week late, but we’re kicking off 2012 with a bit of a different version of Some Shit We Like. The new year (as is usually the case) is slow out of the gate with very little, shall we say, fresh shit for us to like and discuss amongst ourselves. However, never being at a loss for words, we improvised and presented what we were most looking forward to in the year to come of video games and film. Also, good friend of the show, Ryan O’Leary, joined us and shared his latest projects, Snack Shack and Jesus Christ! 2!!, much to our delight. Finally, for good measure, there is always our usual banter and randomness, but you’ll just have to listen for more on that.
Otherwise, here’s a glimpse of what else awaits in our first show of the year:
News – Starhawk’s potentially new and surprising DLC strategy
News – Kaz Hirai soon becoming president of Sony
News – Gran Turismo 5 XL releases January 17th with $20 DLC voucher
News – UFC on Xbox Live FAIL, promises future free access…again (only to those who registered for free access of UFC 141)
…And they said it wouldn’t last. Well, not really. Nobody said that. But if they had, they would have been freakin’ wrong. This week marks episode 20 of SSWL. Hope you enjoy! Here is what we talked about this week:
News - Diablo Cody’s Directing Debut
News - David Goyer Teams with Showtime to make 100 Bullets
News - MoviePass on hold
News - WWE All-Stars DLC update
News – Media Molecule focusing on new projects
News – Team Fortress 2 paid players have sand in their vaginas over free-to-play
Random Thoughts – Uncharted 3 Beta, Beyond Good and Evil demo, and some other junk.
The music break this week is by All Left Out. The song is call “Century” and is off the album Never Say Never. Unfortunately, they have recently gone their separate ways. You can still buy their music on iTunes. So if you liked it, please go get it.
