The internally code-named “Windows 8,”  is  reimagining Windows.  “The interface for a new generation of touch-centric hardware. Fast, fluid and dynamic, the experience has been transformed while keeping the power, flexibility and connectivity of Windows intact” , said Juile Larson-Green.

Here are a few aspects of the new interface :

Fast launching of apps from a tile-based Start screen, which replaces the Windows Start menu with a customizable, scalable full-screen view of apps.
Live tiles with notifications, showing always up-to-date information from your apps.
Fluid, natural switching between running apps.
Convenient ability to snap and resize an app to the side of the screen, so you can really multitask using the capabilities of Windows.
Web-connected and Web-powered apps built using HTML5 and JavaScript that have access to the full power of the PC.
Fully touch-optimized browsing, with all the power of hardware-accelerated Internet Explorer 10.

“We also showed effortless movement between existing Windows programs and new Windows 8 apps. The full capabilities of Windows continue to be available to you, including the Windows Explorer and Desktop, as does compatibility with all Windows 7 logo PCs, software and peripherals.”

Recently I just read on the TechCrunch that Amazon has been working on a 7-inch touch screen tablet.   This will be the first full-color kindle screen.  The Movie player will be Amazons Instant Video Player and the Music will be Amazon’s Cloud Base player.  There will be no Android Market Place on this or, Google apps either.  Although the article says “My Understanding is that the Kindle OS was Built on top of some version of Android prior to 2.2 and Amazon will keep building on top of that over time.”  So I’m sure in time we will see some sort of Google Apps in the future if they really want to stay in the game against the other tables on the market.  The Amazon Tablet could be released in October with a bigger version of it coming out next year Q1.

From the sounds of it, I understand that they’re building this around the Android OS with the Kindle OS in mind, but I think if Amazon really would like to compete with other companies, they should just make their own Operating System.  On the bright side of things, I am very interested to see what they do.

What is your take in all this?  Are you looking forward to it?  Will you buy one?  Comment Below.  You can read the full Amazon Tablet Review over at TechCrunch…..Here.  For even more information.
